About Margarita

Margarita is a License Professional Counselor (LPC) offering individual therapy to clients ages 19 and older. She has worked in various settings including community mental health agencies, university counseling centers, rape crisis center, private practice and university career center. She has a background working with children, adolescents, parents and adults. While working in private practice, Margarita has focused on assisting adults work through a variety of presenting concerns including depression, generalized anxiety, life transitions, emerging adulthood, relationship concerns, parenting difficulties and career exploration. She utilizes various approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Person Centered, Sandtray; tailoring treatment to the unique needs of each individual. Along with individual therapy, Margarita is a certified Promoting First Relationship (PFR) provider, helping parents with children from birth to 5 years of age develop better understanding of their child’s social-emotional needs through responsive, nurturing caregiver-child relationship. She is passionate about providing a safe & collaborative space where individuals feel seen, heard and empowered to grow and work through the life difficulties that brought them into therapy.
