Dana Hildebrand is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and a National Certified Counselor under the supervision of Jason Martin, Ph.D., LMFT-S, LPC-S. She received her Master of Arts degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling this year. Additionally, earned her undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Christian Studies and Psychology from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2011.
Dana served internships at the Center for Relational Care of Austin, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Counseling Services and the UMHB Community Life Center. She is certified in Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1 & 2 and has certifications in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Shame-Informed Treatment therapy. Her therapy concentration is focused on individuals and couples with an expressed interest in women’s issues. Dana has experience in treating people with anxiety, depression, hopelessness, spirituality, life transitions, attachment issues, divorce recovery, and shame.
Life can be complicated and stressful! A person may feel overwhelmed by the events in their life unsure about how to take the next steps toward finding solutions for change that can bring them peace and stability. Seeking counsel takes courage and making the decision to move forward is often the beginning steps to a journey toward freedom. It is Dana’s desire to walk alongside you in this process!
Dana is dedicated to helping others find healing and empowerment to overcome personal obstacles and improve their lives while strengthening their identity and understanding of who they were created to be. I am passionate about helping individuals and couples to better understand and appreciate themselves and each other in ways that strengthen bonds and to enhance more fulfilling relationships. She is excited to see ALL marriages move beyond “surviving towards thriving” as they make positive changes, regain momentum, and find HOPE.
Dana’s clients will be heard, accepted, and made at ease in an environment that gives them the opportunity to face problems without feeling judgment or criticism. Counseling is an amazing journey and a collaborative process where she partners with her clients to determine their goals and find ways to achieve them.
Utilizing a variety of evidence-based psychotherapy techniques as well as incorporating a biblical perspective when desired by clients, Dana strives to honor and respect individuals’ personal belief systems. She approaches counseling through a person-centered, solution-focused, and narrative theory stance providing clients with the opportunity to rewrite their story. Facilitating clients to overcome negative self-beliefs, manage their pain, and enhance performance in a variety of areas resulting in healing and freedom. Her life experiences and perseverance through many storms have given her a unique insight and the ability to empathize with clients in a variety of difficult conditions. Her desire is to be a trusted counselor who meets people at their point of greatest need with grace and understanding in a non-judgmental space that brings comfort and peace for the journey!
Dana believes nutrition and fitness are high performance tools for a vibrant life and bodybuilding is her favorite pastime. She has been married for 25 years and has four adult children
