About Chelsea

Chelsea Carnes is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Masters of Social Work from Texas State University and a Bachelors of Social Work from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR. Chelsea has extensive advanced training in play therapy and sandtray therapy.

Her past experiences working within many community systems have included an advocacy center for children, in hospital emergency departments, and as a juvenile probation officer. In all of her roles, Chelsea has worked closely with community partners to ensure clients and families receive adequate services to meet their needs. Chelsea finds joy in staying connecting to our community and our community partners to ensure continuity of care for her clients. 

Chelsea specializes in working with trauma ranging from physical and sexual abuse to witnessing violent crimes or traumatic deaths. Chelsea believes in using a holistic approach in therapy. She works from a client-centered point of view, believing that each person has all of the strengths within them to heal and achieve their goals. She strives to offer a safe, accepting place, for all persons, to facilitate and encourage the healing process by welcoming clients as they are and where they are in their journey.
